Welcome to my "on the needle" page. As it takes a while for my bears to be created I thought you might like to have a look at how my bears are made. I usually have more than one bear OTN but for now I shall show you just one and his name is Ashleigh.
Ashleigh was started on Saturday morning 14th April. I'd just received some new chocolate brown eyelash yarn and decided to knit one of my larger bears.Or so I thought.
I decided to use slightly smaller needles than usual and although I'm pleased with the effect Ashleigh is going to be half the size I'd planned. The pic above is Ashleigh's head. I've used dk snowflake yarn for his muzzle.
So now I'm starting the legs! The wool looks pretty prickly but infact its very soft once knitted.I think Ashleigh is going to be different from my usual knitted bears.
22nd July
Well I'm ashamed to say that Ashleigh has been left. But only because I have had commissioned bears to get ready. I have finally finnished some sample Bauble bears and a bride and groom which are now on my gifts page. I'm now working on a babies bear but will get back to Ashleigh very soon.......
22nd October
Babies bear finally finnished. You can take a peak at Thomas on the Gifts page. Also managed to complete a devil bear..... I'll put a picture of him on the website tomorrow.
4th Jan 08
Wow how fast time has passed! I'm ashamed to say Ashleigh is still unfinnished. He had to give way to commissioned bears but will be completed soon. I'm working on new minature bears at the moment and would also like to start on some felting so watch this space.............. Oh yes and have at last put a pic of my devil bear and Jack on the available bears page.
28th June
Well so much for new year resolutions its been 6 months since I wrote!
I went to the Westie bears workshop back in January and met Andy West. He is great and I had such a fab time I'd love to go again. I made Enry from a pattern designed by Andy and he gave me some great advice.
Andy put a picture of Enry and the other ladies bears in his article in the March issue of Teddybear Club International and there was even a pic of me there too. This was a great suprise as I didn't know until I was reading the mag in the payment que in W H Smiths. I would highly recommend any of you outhere to go to one of Andy's workshops and visit his website www.westiebears.com.
I was very sad to hear the news that Teddybear Scene was to stop publishing. This was the first bear mag I bought and I'm sure it will be missed by the bear community......
Lastly, I've booked a stall at this years Audley End Christmas fair. This is a 3 day event on 21st to 23rd of November. It will be my first big event and I'm very excited.
